The time spent on your project represents a number of design related activities. The following categories describe the types of work done by your designer that may be tracked and detailed on your statement at the end of each month. The following outlines the different categories that define billable time.
Initial Consultation:
Time spent understanding and documenting your lifestyle and design preferences, measuring your space or reviewing blueprints, and photographing your project.
Design Coordination:
Time spent planning your overall project and coordinating with parties involved, reviewing, revising and following up on the plan.
Research & Development:
Time spent:
- Developing a vision or “concept”
- Gathering samples and prices from suppliers
- Preparing your presentation
Graphic Drafting:
Time spent preparing floor plans, sketches, color boards, or other visual presentations for the project.
Communication:
Time spent in meeting with you and extended discussions of progress via email or telephone.
(Check-up calls are complimentary.)
Installation:
Time spent measuring for custom or built-in products, inspecting and preparing the product for installation, and supporting the actual delivery and installation of the product.
Management:
Extended time spent writing and placing orders; following up and communicating with parties involved. (Normal tracking is complimentary.)
Travel:
One-way travel outside the three-county metropolitan area to your design site or to locations directly associated with your project.
